Why carburetor is not used in diesel engines?
The concept of combustion is different in SI and CI engines.
SI engine:
In SI engine Carburetor is used to atomize the fuel by mixing it with air in correct proportions based on the load.
CI engine:
In CI engine in compression stroke air is compressed to its best and then the fuel is injected into the pool of compressed air, then due to the heat developed by the compressed air the fuel gets ignited.
